The standard charge is £14 per hour (£15 per hour from 1 January 2026). This includes use of all hall facilities and equipment. The only additional charge is if you arrange for the use of a bouncy castle (provided by a third party) then we add an extra £5 per session to cover electricity.

By cash, cheque or BACS payment, in advance; further details at the time of booking.
Please allow extra time in your booking to setup for your activity and to clear away afterwards when calculating the length of your booking. All time needed in the hall must be paid for. Please be aware that if you do not book sufficient time then other hirers may be inconvenienced.
All the equipment in the hall and kitchen is included in the hire cost. The only additional charge is for the use of a bouncy castle which is £5 per session to cover electricity.
The hall is fully equipped with facilities for disabled users.
Users in the hall can use the Wi-Fi. The access code is shown on the south wall noticeboard to the right of the door to the toilets.
Tables and chairs are stored in the Store Room which is accessed from the main hall through the double doors located to the left of the fireplace.
The village hall does have outside lights which are triggered by infra-red detectors. However, it is also recommended that users bring their own torches during dark winter evenings.
The heating is controlled remotely using a Hive system. There is a single thermostat located in the main hall. Normally the thermostat is set for 18 degrees Celsius while the hall is in use during the Winter. If you have problems with the temperature please use the emergency contact details on the noticeboard in the hall.
If you have special requirements for the temperature in the hall, please send an email in advance of your booking time to info@callowendvillagehall.co.uk with your request.
The kitchen is well equipped. Here are some of the facilities:

Yes. A baby changing unit and a toddler unit is available. These are currently in the ladies disabled toilets.
Call the emergency services and ask for an ambulance. The operator will give use information to use the defibrillator if they consider it appropriate.
There is a First Aid Box in the kitchen on the counter next to the serving hatch.
All accidents occurring in the Hall or in the grounds should be entered in to the Accident Book. This is kept in the kitchen cupboard along with the First Aid Kit. If necessary call for emergency medical assistance. In case of fire or other major emergency at the Hall, contact the relevant emergency services Please let the bookings officer (info@callowendvillagehall.co.uk) or another member of the hall committee know what has happened as soon as practicable.
Unfortunately, we are unable to hire the hall for a celebration of this type of event due to the residential nature of the hall location.
The Hall is licenced to accommodate 120 people. This is the maximum capacity, and the actual capacity depends on the layout of seating and tables. We will not accept private party bookings for more than 80 persons.
Yes. You will need to arrange for a licence with Malvern Hills District Council.
The hall has a tarmac area for car parking at the rear. There is capacity for approximately 12 cars. The grassed area can also be used for parking when not wet. Parking at the front of the hall is reserved for Emergency Service vehicles only.
This depends upon the layout of tables and chairs. The hall can accommodate 120 people with chairs. Sufficient crockery and cutlery is provide for 80 covers.
The main entry door has a push button entry lock. You will be provided with the code for the lock and instructions on how to use it when your booking is confirmed.
Yes. You will need to arrange this directly with the supplier. We do charge a one-off fee of £5.00 for use of electricity for the bouncy castle. Users are advised to check with their bouncy castle providers that they have adequate insurance cover as the hall insurance will not cover them. See our bouncy castle policy
Please look at all of the information provided on our website before requesting a visit. We are happy to arrange inspections of the facilities, if needed, however, inspections do take up a considerable amount of time and all the management team are volunteers. The Hall has a premises licence issued by Malvern Hills District Council authorising its use for the showing of films, production of plays, performance of live and recorded music and dancing. Any sale of alcohol must be authorised by a Temporary Events Notice issued by the Local Authority. Hirers must obtain a licence for the sale of alcohol.
All rubbish must be removed from the hall by the users at the end of the hire. Please bring rubbish bags to take away any rubbish that you create.
Users need to provide all consumables that they plan to use in the hall. In addition, items like tea towels are not provided. Please bring your own. All rubbish must be removed by the users after the hire. Please bring rubbish bags to take away any rubbish you create.
The hall can be booked from 9am to 10:30pm, Monday to Sunday. The hall premises must be vacated by 11 pm. This means that the event must be finished, the hall tidied up, and everyone left the premises. We have this rule because the hall is located in a residential neighbourhood.
A wide range of meetings and classes take place at the village hall. These in include exercise classes such as yoga, Pilates and Zumba, art classes, WI meetings, and Parish Council Meetings. See the calendar for details of public activities. The hall can also be hired for private events. Children’s’ birthday parties and other family events are popular, although we do not accept bookings for teenage parties (where the majority of guests are aged between 13 and 18) and wedding receptions.
When you have finished using the hall, all equipment must be cleaned and put away in the appropriate location. This includes: all tables and tables on their storage racks in the store room
all kitchen equipment in the kitchen cupboards.
all surfaces must be left clean.
all rubbish must be removed from the hall at the end of the hire. This includes the contents of any bins in the hall.
