Bouncy Castle Policy

If you are intending to use a bouncy castle at the hall, please read the following statement.

Hirers are reminded that bouncy castles are renowned for causing accident or injury to participants. Whilst we do not want to stop them being used in Callow End Village Hall, as we know that when used in a safe manner they are a fun and enjoyable part of an event. So all hirers must be aware that as the organiser of the event taking place at the hall, and the supervisor of the bouncy castle, the onus of responsibility lies with them in all instances. Hirers are encouraged to use reputable suppliers when hiring bouncy castles, and should satisfy themselves that the bouncy castle supplier has appropriate insurance cover.

The hirer is advised to request from the bouncy castle supplier a completed risk assessment for using the bouncy castle, review it for its appropriateness within Callow End Village Hall, and ensure that all risks identified are mitigated appropriately. Hirers who are uncertain about what this means are advised to ask their bouncy castle supplier for advice.

Unless the hirer has arranged for the bouncy castle supplier to provide supervision during the event, it is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that appropriate adult supervision is provided whilst the bouncy castle is in use. Reputable bouncy castle hirers will provide written supervision instructions for hirers, and it is recommended that appropriate adult supervisors are trained by the bouncy castle supplier before the bouncy castle is used.

Callow End Village Hall, its management and Trustees of the village hall accept no responsibility for the use of this type of equipment in Callow End Village Hall or its grounds. The hirer indemnifies Callow End Village Hall, its management and Trustees of the village hall against all claims arising from use or misuse of a bouncy castle on the premises. This clause is an addition to our Terms and Conditions of Hire.
